PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police say two men were wounded in a shooting outside of their home in Northeast Philadelphia overnight.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday along the 4600 block of Kendrick Street in the city’s Holmesburg neighborhood.
Authorities say two 32-year-old men were standing in front of their home when someone opened fire on them. One of the men was struck in the abdomen and in the leg. The other man was struck one time in each leg.
Both victims were taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.
Police say a total of 17 shots were fired and several of those rounds struck the front door of the home.
“That’s a lot of shots to shoot on the streets of Philadelphia,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. “It appears that this individual just emptied his semi-automatic gun and fired every shot, every shot that he had.”
